THE STORY
Between touring in support of their debut LP, as the rhythm section for Fan Modine (“8.0″ – Pitchfork) and as members of Lovett, creating music for films such as Sun Don’t Shine (SXSW 2012 premiere and award winner), and travelling far and wide, Wages finished off this new release.

Shady Chamber was recorded by Alex Maiolo and Wages in Carrboro, NC, at the humbly named Seriously Adequate Studio (known for recent work with Lost in the Trees), with further recording and mixing at Asheville, NC’s beautiful Echo Mountain with Jon Ashley (War on Drugs, Avett Bros, Band of Horses, Azure Ray).

The sonics of the recording are based on a live sound developed initially as a duo, utilizing signal splitting, pitch shifting, shitty microphones and delays to create a unique and sweeping sound-scape.
